About Indiepend Pictures

Indiepend Pictures was founded in 2011 by two film enthusiasts who are of the humble opinion that a lot of films being produced today tend to lack two essential parts: Structure and Story.
Our first mission is to get ourselves known. To show that we view film making as an art and a science - with rules dating back to the days of Aristotle and Plato. We consider these rules still valid today. To name but a few:
  • According to Aristotle, "the structure of the best tragedy should not be simple but complex and one that represents incidents arousing fear and pity — for that is peculiar to this form of art".
  • Plot should proceed from good fortune to bad and involve a high degree of suffering for the protagonist, usually involving physical harm or death.
  • Tragedy involves a great person who experiences a reversal of fortune. According to Aristotle, "The misfortune is brought about not by vice or depravity, but by some error or frailty". The reversal is the inevitable but unforeseen result of some action taken by the hero.
